     Choral Music

sol, luna, astra (2020) - for SATB Choir; text by Nathan Froebe, trans. Ryan Grinter
A triptych of short a capella choral works, each giving explicit and hyperbolic personifications of the sun, moon, and stars.
A Mighty Woman with a Torch (2018) - for SATB Choir, Piano, Trumpet, and Snare
   Text by Emma Lazarus
Based on the poem inscribed on the Statue of Liberty (The New Colossus), this setting is reflective, driving, and powerful in its expression.
La Mer (2017) - for SSA choir and Piano
   Text by Oscar Wilde
In this setting, the sea is not so much the subject as it is the landscape upon which the protagonist's thoughts are projected. Hazy, ethereal, and sumptuous.

The Harlot's House (2016) - for SATB choir (unaccompanied)
   Text by Oscar Wilde
This bouncy and sometimes ghoulish dance-like setting is rife with colorful imagery of women who have taken control of their lives and have become empowered, despite what society what might think of them.
