Portrait d'une Femme (2016) - Mezzo Soprano and Orchestra
Winner of the 2016-17 University of Wisconsin-Madison Symphony Showcase (Composition Category), this piece is based upon the poem of the same name by Ezra Pound. Featuring Jessica Kasinski, mezzo-soprano, and Kyle Knox, conductor, with the UW-Madison Symphony.
The work swirls about like the thoughts in the speaker of the poem's head. The subject of identity is explored, as the central figure in the poem grasps with reconciling that their identity is both compromised of everyone they have every met, while also uniquely being their own because of these amalgamations.

Doubt (2015) - Mezzo Soprano and Orchestra
Based on an original text by the composer, this work traverses through a myriad of colors     and moods, all while ruminating on the nature of doubt. Intensely personal and                       autobiographical, this work allows for unique interplay between the singer and orchestra.          (Recording from a workshop session)

Monolith (2016) - (Advanced)
For double brass choir and percussion, “Monolith” is a fanfare that is all about giant blocks   of sound. Each block of sound is meant to be a different mountain thrusting up from the         earth, sometimes with more mountains breaking through the previous ones. The                   momentum provided by the more rapid moving lines represent the magic that dances while   pulling these mountains from the earth. There is extended use of polytonality
throughout the fanfare, as well as some stereo effects.

Spinning Out (2015) - (Grade 4)
A piece based around the idea of how a composer works to spin out a melody, the main
theme slowly comes into being through a dizzy and whimsical stroll as the material is
passed around and toyed with by everyone in the ensemble.
Lucid Dreams (2014) - (Grade 4, Solo Grade 5)
For Concert Band and Solo Trombone (or for Euphonium), this work explores a restful
dream-state, followed by a chaotic nightmare, and culminating in a frolicking ride

  to waking.

Three Dances (2013) - (Grade 3)
A suite of three off-beat dances with plenty of moments that highlight every section of the       band, including tap-dancing drummers!
